How to use Custom

Custom lets you pick the picture model and the video model yourself. Studio and Fast keep using Freebeat’s own models. After you click Continue, the rest of the steps stay the same. This page only shows how to turn Custom on.

1What Custom does

Use Custom when you want a different look from the usual Freebeat models. You are still making a music video in the same place. You are only changing which models draw the pictures and turn them into video.

The three choices mean this:

  • Studio: Freebeat's own model. Use this when you want a more careful, more stable result.
  • Fast: also Freebeat's own model. Use this when you want a quicker result.
  • Custom: you pick one picture model and one video model yourself.

Custom needs VIP. If you are not signed in, opening the menu asks you to log in first. If you are signed in but not a member, Continue opens the upgrade page instead of saving your choice.

These other models can also take longer. If you just want a video quickly, stay on Studio or Fast.

Recommendeddecide if you really need Custom before you click Create. Once you start, this choice stays for this video.

Not recommendedthinking Custom is a different product. It is not. Plan, storyboard, and merge still work the same way.

2How to open Custom

Go to /music-video-generator. Custom is the small button next to Create. It is not a separate page.

Open Custom from the button next to Create. There is no separate Custom page.
  1. Make sure you are on Freebeat 2.0. That is the normal starting point.
  2. Look at the button next to Create. Before you change anything, it usually says Studio or Fast.
  3. Click it. You will see Studio, Fast, and Custom.
Stay on Studio or Fast unless you already know which two models you want. Custom is only for that pairing.
  1. Click Custom. A window called Custom Model Configuration opens.
Pick one picture model and one video model, then click Continue. Looking around and clicking Continue still saves the choice.

The first time, you may see a short intro. Try Custom mode opens the same window. Maybe later keeps you on Studio or Fast.

Recommendedadd your song, write your idea, and set the size first. Then open Custom. The size you pick can change which video models you can use.

Not recommendedlooking for a Custom page. There isn't one. It is just this button.

3How to pick your models

The window asks two things: which model draws the pictures, and which model turns them into video. The starting choices are GPT-Image 2 for pictures and Seedance 2.5 for video. You can keep them, or change either one.

3.1Pick the picture model

IMAGE MODEL decides how the still pictures look.

Choose the picture model for the stills first. The video model will animate whatever look you leave here.

Use them like this:

  • GPT-Image 2: the usual choice. Start here if you are not sure.
  • Nano Banana 2: cheaper, and usually lighter.
  • Nano Banana Pro: stronger than Nano Banana 2, still in the same family.

This does not make the moving video by itself. It only sets how the pictures look.

3.2Pick the video model

VIDEO GENERATION MODEL decides how those pictures move.

If a video model is grey, change the size first, then open Custom again. Grey means a size mismatch, not a broken model.

Use them like this:

  • HappyHorse: another 720p / 1080p option if you do not want Seedance.
  • Wan2.7: also 720p / 1080p, and usually uses fewer credits.
  • Seedance 2.0: the standard Seedance look at 720p or 1080p.
  • Seedance 2.0 Fast: 720p only. Faster, but only that size.
  • Seedance 2.5: the usual choice. Newer Seedance, and it needs 720p.
  • MiniMax H3: 768p or 2k only. Use it only if you want that size.

The small i next to the video label is a reminder: these models can be slower when a lot of people are using them.

3.3If a model is grey

If a video model does not work with the size you picked, it stays in the list but turns grey. You cannot click it until you change the size.

Common cases:

  • Seedance 2.0 Fast and Seedance 2.5 need 720p.
  • MiniMax H3 needs 768p or 2k.

Close the window, change the size next to the prompt, then open Custom again.

3.4Cancel or Continue

There are only two buttons at the bottom:

  • Cancel closes the window. Nothing is saved. You stay on Studio.
  • Continue saves the two models you picked for this video.

If you are not a member, Continue does not save Custom. It closes the window and opens upgrade.

Recommendedchange the size first, then pick the model. Grey means the size does not match, not that the model is broken.

Not recommendedclicking Continue just to look around. That saves the choice, or sends a non-member to upgrade.

4After you click Continue

If it worked, the button next to Create now says Custom. That means this video will use the two models you just picked.

After Continue, the button should read Custom. If it does not, the pairing was not saved.

What stays the same:

  • You still add music, write your idea, set captions, and click Create.
  • The later steps still follow the Agent tutorial.
  • Changes in this same video keep using these two models.

What changed:

  • Pictures come from the picture model you picked.
  • Motion comes from the video model you picked.
  • Switching back to Studio or Fast drops this Custom choice.

When you are ready to make the video, go to the Agent tutorial. Custom only changes the models. It does not replace those steps.

Recommendedafter Continue, look at the button. If it does not say Custom, your choice was not saved.

Not recommendedstaying on this page and trying to remake the whole Agent flow. Custom is done here.

Not recommendedopening Custom every time just because it is in the menu. If you do not need other models, Studio or Fast is simpler.
