[00:00:47] So he went down and sat on the pier. He said, I bet you got a boyfriend, but I don't care cause I got no one to send back a letter to.
[00:00:59] Would you mind if I sent one back here to you?
[00:01:08] I cried, never gonna hold the hand of another guy. Too young for him, they told her. Waiting for the love of a traveling soldier.
[00:01:18] Our love will never end. Waiting for the soldier to come back again. Never more to be alone when a letter says the soldier's coming home.
[00:01:36] So the letters came from an army king in California, then in Vietnam. And he told her of his heart, how it might be love. All of the things he was so scared of.
[00:01:49] He said, when it's getting kind of rough over here. I sit and think about that day on the pier and I close my eyes. You see your pretty smile. Don't worry, but I won't be able to ride for a while.
